Harbour Hotels are recruiting for a Management Accountant to join the team at Harbour House.

Role
Harbour Hotels is seeking a commercially focused Management Accountant to act as a key Finance Business Partner to our hotels. This role combines hands‑on financial control with delivering clear, insightful information to support operational decision‑making. You will play an important part in monitoring financial performance, supporting forecasting and budgeting, and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records across the group.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Partner with Hotel General Managers and Heads of Department to support forecasting of revenue and costs, with a particular focus on payroll
- Develop a strong understanding of hotel financial performance, providing analysis on revenue and cost drivers
- Support the Group Financial Controller in preparing and reviewing annual budgets
- Contribute to improving profitability through cost control and identification of revenue opportunities
- Prepare and review monthly management accounts and hotel ledgers within agreed deadlines
- Complete balance sheet reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies
- Reconcile intercompany balances and post required journals
- Prepare quarterly VAT returns
- Act as a first point of contact for financial reporting and accounting queries
- Support finance systems as a super user, assisting with troubleshooting and improvements
- Assist with ad‑hoc projects as required
What We’re Looking For
- Strong Excel skills, with the ability to analyse data, build reports, and support decision-making
- A proactive and organised approach, with the ability to manage priorities in a fast‑paced environment
- Excellent attention to detail and a focus on accuracy
- Experience working across multiple sites would be advantageous
- Knowledge of the hospitality industry would be beneficial
Salary
Salary will be in the region of £40,000 depending on experience and relevant skills.
Location & Work Arrangement
This role is based in Christchurch; however, a hybrid working pattern will be considered.
