We are seeking a pro‑active and detail oriented Senior Accountant to become part of our Finance team, supporting the Lodging business, covering a specific portfolio, primarily based from Leicester, England. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for the preparation and analysis of financial information across the portfolio, ensuring accurate reporting, strong financial controls, and compliance with company and statutory requirements. You will be supporting and have significant stakeholder management with the portfolio General Manager's.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing and analysing monthly USALI financial statements, reconciliations, and supporting schedules for a portfolio of hotels, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting.
  • Leading month‑end and year‑end close processes, including balance sheet reconciliations, cash flow forecasting, and variance analysis against budget and forecast.
  • Supporting the General Manager with monthly business review meetings, owner representations, and ad‑hoc financial queries.
  • Monitoring revenues, expenses, payroll postings, VAT returns, P11Ds, PSA settlements, and statutory reporting to ensure compliance with UK regulations and company standards.
  • Reviewing and approving bank reconciliations and payment runs, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and allocated.
  • Overseeing financial controls, reconciliations, and reporting processes across hotel operations, ensuring compliance with internal and owner‑mandated procedures.
  • Liaising with auditors, tax advisors, hotel owners, and operational teams to provide financial information and resolve queries in a timely manner.
  • Contributing to budgeting, forecasting, process improvements, and the enhancement of financial controls and reporting standards across the portfolio.

Qualifications

  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified.
  • Minimum 3 years experience in a similar role within a medium/large corporate environment.
  • Good general understanding of accounting theory and business taxation.
  • Background in Hospitality or real estate (desirable).
  • Advanced MS Excel.
  • Problem solving skills.
  • Knowledge of applicable laws, codes and regulations.
  • Attention to detail.
