We are currently looking for a Legal Counsel (NQ+) to join our current team of 2. As a legal team at Finalto, we work closely together to support each other, and you will have the opportunity to work with other legal and compliance professionals across the Finalto group and in relation to other parts of the Finalto business. As a business, we have a strong ethos of working across departments and jurisdictions, including our technology division which works alongside our regulated financial services businesses.
- Practicing lawyer from newly qualified to 2 years post qualification experience qualified in one of the following jurisdictions: England & Wales, Singapore or Australia.
- Practical experience within the financial services industry (either through secondments, working in-house or prior career), or a regulator.
- Practical experience of dealing with a range of “business as usual” legal matters, such as commercial contracts, IT, data protection, IP issues, employment issues, disputes/litigation and company matters.
- A good grasp of the financial regulatory landscape for investment firms and a broad understanding of major regulatory initiatives.
- Interest in scaling legal operations through implementation of AI/automation tools such as Co-pilot and Chat GPT.
- Interested in the impact of AI in financial services and adoption within in-house legal teams.
- Fluent in business level English, with Chinese languages desirable.
- Providing legal support to business teams with clear, timely and commercially sound legal advice on a variety of legal topics including IP, Contract law, Financial Services Regulation, Disputes, Governance, etc.
- Preparing, reviewing, and negotiating contracts/agreements and other legal documents with technology, marketing, financial services, and other vendors.
- Building and maintaining relationships across various other functions in the business.
- Alongside others in the legal team, providing corporate support.
