We invest in our people, offering opportunities for professional growth, international exposure, and the chance to shape the future of trading technology and liquidity solutions.
Finalto’s core offering is built around a cutting-edge proprietary and real-time trading platform, ClearVision. ClearVision R&D, located in Copenhagen, is Finalto’s development hub and is responsible for the continued development and maintenance of the platform. Here, we build and support the systems that ensure trades are processed, reconciled, and reported accurately. As the business continues to grow, we are looking for a Senior Observability Platform Engineer based in our London Office to help ClearVision build the next stage of its observability capability.
The Team
ClearVision R&D is a dedicated team consisting of three engineering teams and IT Operation, working together on the ClearVision trading platform, providing real-time pricing, risk management and order execution with sub-millisecond latency. The demands for precision and performance in our systems are high, and we maintain full control of our technology stack. We work in an agile environment within a fast-paced industry. Our work environment is characterised by openness, commitment, delegated responsibility, and strong teamwork. You will be working closely with our other engineering teams within ClearVision R&D, as well as our B2B business units in London, Singapore, Australia, Dubai and the US.
The Role
This role is not only about maintaining monitoring tools. It is about designing and implementing a coherent observability platform that makes our systems easier to understand, easier to operate, and faster to diagnose. You will work closely with Platform Engineering and service teams to improve telemetry quality, consolidate fragmented monitoring approaches, standardize instrumentation, and build service-level observability that supports both human operators and future AI-assisted operational workflows. You will act as a subject-matter expert for observability, helping define standards for structured logging, telemetry design, and service-level visibility across teams.
Your focus:
- Improve visibility across services, dependencies, and system health
- Improve telemetry quality and consistency
- Strengthen incident diagnosis and root-cause analysis
- Reduce operational complexity and reliance on specialist knowledge
- Contribute to building scalable foundations for future improvements
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in observability engineering, with clear ownership of building and improving observability platforms in production environments (background in SRE or platform engineering is highly preferred)
- Strong experience operating in complex production environments
- Proven experience improving system visibility across multiple systems or teams
- Experience modernising or consolidating monitoring and telemetry approaches
- Experience defining standards for structured logging and telemetry
- Experience with OpenTelemetry or comparable telemetry frameworks
- Experience working with service-level indicators (SLIs), SLOs, and reliability metrics
- Strong understanding of modern observability across logs, metrics, traces, and events
You are familiar with:
- Infrastructure as Code (e.g. Terraform)
- Configuration as Code or equivalent automation practices
- Scripting (Python, Bash, PowerShell, or similar)
- Building or maintaining reusable operational platform components
Personal Qualities:
- Strong collaboration and communication skills across engineering teams
- Ownership mindset and proactive approach to problem-solving
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
If you enjoy improving how complex systems are monitored and operated in production, and want to work on high-performance, real-time platforms — we’d like to hear from you. Join us and help shape the future of observability at Finalto.
