At fin-house, we are fuelling startups, scaleups and SMEs with awesome finance teams. The problem: The current go-to for start-ups and SMEs is outsourcing their finance function and team to accountancy firms who are very far removed from the business and often simply produce numbers without context. Our solution: At fin-house, we deliver 'in‑house'. This means our clients will have a team IN their business, providing proactive insight, advice and commercial support, enabling them to make the right decisions at the right time. We make sure our clients get the finance function they need, when they need it, seamlessly integrated into their business.

- Location: We are based in Waterloo (London) with a minimum of three days in the office a week.
- Salary: £70,000 to £80,000 depending on experience.
The role:
Our fin‑leads head up the finance function across their portfolio, leading teams and embedding finance at the heart of each organisation. They drive forecasting, planning and commercial insight, connecting day‑to‑day performance with long‑term strategy. Working closely with founders and leadership teams, they challenge thinking, assess risk and shape decisions with clarity and confidence. Your day‑to‑day:
- Finance team: Leading on creating an agile and flexible finance team across your portfolio and navigating the challenges to ensure each organisation can operate both efficiently and effectively.
- Dissecting, evaluating and articulating levels of risk that exist around commercial opportunities as well as providing strategic support to bring opportunities to life with a focus on building long‑term value.
- Leading the end‑to‑end budgeting and forecasting process ensuring alignment to strategic objectives and allowing organisations to remain agile and keep on track to long‑term goals.
- Leading the finance function teams across your portfolio to play a key role in messaging and driving impact.
- Building strong relationships both internally and externally across your portfolio so you are a true member of the leadership team and trusted advisor to each organisation.
- Networking and building external relationships to help support the growth of fin‑house. Supporting fin‑house with new business leads and opportunities.
- Mentoring and coaching fin‑managers across your portfolio and wider fin‑house team.
- Leading on change management projects – whether that be in the form of new software, processes, people, expansion to new territories or new commercial opportunities. You will be helping clients to navigate the challenges from scoping to implementation and continued evaluation after. Truly bringing strategic and growth plans to life!

You will need:
- An accountancy qualification is desirable but we are willing to consider relevant alternative paths.
- Minimum of 7 years’ experience working in accountancy/finance.
- Experience with Xero and/or Quickbooks is ideal.
- Expert at Excel and/or Google Sheets.
- Experience of working with a portfolio of clients is highly desirable.
