Fimador is partnering with an established global enterprise software organisation to appoint a Vice President of Software Engineering, taking ownership of the technology vision, engineering strategy and continued evolution of a substantial international software portfolio.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Define and execute the long-term technology strategy across a portfolio of enterprise software products.
- Lead large-scale platform modernisation initiatives, transitioning legacy architectures towards scalable, cloud-native SaaS solutions.
- Shape architectural direction, championing API-first development, modern engineering practices and emerging technologies.
- Drive technology investment decisions, balancing innovation with commercial objectives and long-term scalability.
- Establish engineering roadmaps that improve delivery efficiency while supporting business growth.
Global Engineering Leadership
- Provide executive leadership to a global engineering organisation of 300+ professionals across multiple international locations.
- Build high-performing engineering teams, developing technical leadership capability and fostering a culture of innovation.
- Lead organisational transformation, introducing effective engineering operating models and delivery frameworks.
- Oversee engineering budgets, resource planning and strategic technology partnerships.
- Work closely with senior executives across Product, Commercial and Customer Success to align technology delivery with business priorities.
Engineering Excellence & Innovation
- Drive the development and delivery of enterprise-grade software platforms supporting complex global customers.
- Champion cloud-native architecture, microservices and modern application development.
- Advance engineering productivity through automation, DevSecOps and continuous delivery practices.
- Explore opportunities for Generative AI, intelligent automation and agentic AI within product development and engineering operations.
- Establish measurable engineering performance standards, improving product quality and accelerating time to market.
- 10+ years' experience within enterprise software engineering, including significant responsibility for delivering commercial software products and legacy products.
- 10+ years' experience leading engineering organisations, ideally across multiple international locations.
- Proven experience overseeing large-scale engineering transformations and complex, multi-product technology environments.
- Strong technical understanding of cloud-native SaaS platforms, modern software architecture and API-first engineering.
- Experience working with AWS, Azure or GCP and delivering scalable, multi-tenant software products.
Ideally Interesting Experience:
- Previous leadership within enterprise SaaS, B2B software or complex regulated technology environments.
- Experience integrating acquired technologies, products or engineering organisations.
- Leading AI and Generative AI adoption within enterprise engineering environments.
- Knowledge of agentic AI architecture, AI governance and responsible development practices.
