Fimador is seeking a talented Python Engineer to join a growing engineering team building a modern platform that supports lending and trading activities within a global capital markets environment. This role is Outside IR35. In this role, you will work closely with traders, operations specialists, and technology colleagues to deliver robust solutions that improve efficiency, reduce operational risk, and enable the business to scale.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain high-performance backend services and data pipelines using Python.
  • Build and optimise ETL pipelines to process and transform large volumes of trading and market data.
  • Develop server-side components and support workflow-related user interface integration where needed.
  • Contribute to the design of a modern platform architecture supporting the full lifecycle of securities financing and delta-one trading.
  • Identify opportunities for workflow automation and build tools that improve operational efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
  • Participate in code reviews, testing, and continuous integration processes to maintain high engineering standards.

About You

  • 3–10 years of software engineering experience, with a strong focus on Python development.
  • Experience building backend systems, data processing applications, or platform services in Python.
  • Strong experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or similar technologies.
  • Comfortable working in Linux-based environments and using command line tools.
  • Experience in a finance environment is preferred, but not essential.
