Our client, a chemicals management firm, seeks an Instrumentation and Control Engineer to join their technical team in London. The Instrumentation and Control Engineer will directly lead or oversee a variety of engineering projects and systems such as SCADA, PLCs and industrial networks. The role will include end-to-end project management, site surveys, commissioning, troubleshooting and supervising contractor projects, ensuring compliance with safety standards and optimising production efficiency.
The scope of projects will be varied from SCADA control systems upgrades, cybersecurity assurance programs, instrumentation and PLC interfaces, automation, communication and/or network works, as well systems implementations (back-office / actions tracking / HR systems). Projects will range from £20k to £2-3m CAPEX, and you will lead multiple projects simultaneously.
You may also participate in some asset integrity maintenance, upgrade/replacement to enhance sustainability, as well as various mechanical and electrical projects on the process Plant. The successful candidate will have a demonstrable background in project management, specifically instrumentation, control and automation (IT/OT) projects. You’ll also have a background in Engineering, such as Mechanical, Electrical or Civil Engineering. Ideally, you will have experience in the APM stage gate process and good understanding of Health and Safety standards.
