Fimador is recruiting on behalf of a prestigious client for an Engineering Manager. You will be a visible leader who champions a customer-first mindset, ensuring technical decisions are grounded in real user needs and contribute measurable business value. You will also help create an environment where continuous improvement, innovation and ownership are part of everyday engineering culture. A background in software engineering is important, with experience guiding teams across modern development practices and architectural patterns. Exposure to technologies such as Python, Java and frontend frameworks including React would be advantageous.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead and deliver strategic engineering improvements across quality, security, reliability and delivery performance.
  • Partner with senior leaders and cross-functional teams to remove blockers, improve flow and raise engineering standards.
  • Encourage the adoption of modern delivery practices, scalable architecture approaches and effective software craftsmanship.
  • Support the evolution of platform and data capabilities, with a focus on long-term sustainability and business impact.
  • Explore and embed AI-enabled tooling where appropriate to improve development efficiency and team effectiveness.
  • Coach and support engineers to produce high-quality, maintainable software using sound technical practices.
  • Build a strong team culture through regular feedback, meaningful 1:1s and structured development planning.
  • Work closely with Product, Strategy, Architecture, Quality and delivery teams to ensure aligned execution.
  • Foster a fast-moving, ownership-led environment that values initiative, experimentation and continuous learning.
