We are now looking for a talented Senior Electronics Engineer to join our Systems Engineering team and contribute to the development of cutting-edge RF and communications products.

The RoleYou will play a key role in the design and development of advanced analogue and digital electronic systems. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will collaborate with RF, software and firmware engineers to develop and deliver high-performance solutions for applications across telecommunications, space, defence and high-altitude platforms.

You will take ownership of electronic designs from concept through to volume manufacture, using modern engineering tools and technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

Electronic Design & DevelopmentDesign and develop analogue and digital electronic circuits, including mixed-signal systems Create signal conditioning circuits, filters, amplifiers, and power supply modules Develop digital systems using microprocessors, ADCs, DACs, and associated logicProduce detailed specifications, perform simulation, and support component selection Capture schematics and define PCB requirements, including materials and stack-up Systems Integration & TestingWork with interfaces such as PCIe, USB, Ethernet, CAN bus, I2C, and SPITroubleshoot and resolve hardware and communication issues Perform system-level integration, verification, and validation testingPrepare test specifications, reports, and reliability assessments Collaboration & Continuous ImprovementCollaborate across hardware, software, firmware, and RF teams Participate in and lead design reviews to mitigate risks Support product introduction, fault diagnosis, and diagnostic processes Manage component obsolescence and recommend alternatives Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry standardsReliability & PerformanceConduct thermal analysis, MTBF calculations, and tolerance analysisEnsure designs meet performance, cost, quality, and manufacturability targetsRequirementsAbout YouYou are a detail-oriented engineer with experience developing high-performance electronic systems in a fast-paced and innovative environment. You will bring: A degree in Electronic Engineering or in relevant subject, or equivalent experience Strong experience in analogue and digital circuit design at component levelExperience with schematic capture and PCB design tools (Altium Designer desirable) Familiarity with EMC/EMI design and testing principlesExperience using lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, spectrum analysers, and logic analysers Desirable: Experience in RF or microwave electronicsKnowledge of high-volume manufacturing and surface mount technologies Why Join Filtronic?
