Studio Lighting & Electrical Technician
Film Soho’s growing V Studio team is looking for an experienced Studio Lighting & Electrical Technician to join our team in central London.
Responsibilities
- Set‑up, upkeep and repairs to studio lighting, camera and LED wall kit.
- Maintain and manage all electronic inventory for quality control.
- Inspect, clean, test and log any defects or damages to lights and LED panels.
- Rigging and de‑rigging studio‑specific lighting equipment.
- Assist client crews with studio lighting usage and host demos with the Head of Studio & VP Supervisor.
- Use Excel, Word and Outlook confidently; log any maintenance work.
- Work closely with the Head of Studio and resident VP Supervisor to host demos, client shoots and other production activities.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 1 year experience in video, lighting or camera equipment.
- Solid experience of studio lighting from live events or film industry (at least 2 years).
- Knowledge of camera equipment and good communication skills.
- Rigging and de‑rigging studio‑specific lighting equipment.
- Computer literate with Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Experience working on live film/TV sets.
Bonus Skills (not strictly required)
- IT knowledge—basic networking and operating system interfaces for control devices.
- Updating LED fixtures and control equipment with firmware/software.
- Working at height (training given if necessary).
- Experience of stage lighting consoles/DMX.
Desired Qualifications & Experiences
- Industry‑recognised qualification in electrical.
- Knowledge of new lighting technologies in the market.
- Previous experience with film and television lighting equipment.
- Experience with manual handling lighting equipment.
