Based in the heart of Soho, Central London, we are known for our cutting‑edge approach across the industry. As a result of our rapid growth, we are now expanding our finance team.
The Role: Reporting into the Group Financial Controller, we are seeking a proactive and enthusiastic Management Accountant to join our team at Film Soho. This is a fast‑paced, dynamic environment offering exposure to a variety of finance areas. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, organised, self‑motivated and thrives in a structured, office‑based environment. An interest in the television and film industry is a plus. We are a small team, so we are looking for someone who is ready to get stuck in. A strong candidate will have previous experience in a similar reporting and analytical role, and working at a transactional level. This is an opportunity for someone who will be able to develop with the role and progress as the demands of the business grow.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor the accounts e‑mail inbox
- Manage the accounts payable, receivable and cashflow processes
- Keep up‑to‑date with customer payable and receivable account reconciliations
- Perform bank reconciliations, including card spend and expenses
- Complete the monthly VAT returns and liaise with HMRC where necessary
- Support monthly payroll processing and pension filings
- Assist in preparing management accounts and with month‑end duties, including accruals, prepayments, and fixed asset management
- Where appropriate, assist with production budgets and cost management
- Ensuring all costs are captured correctly
- Assist with additional analysis, tracking and project work as required
- Assist with the year‑end processes including audit queries
- Develop an understanding of the revenues and costs of the various businesses
- Assist with the preparation and distribution of royalty reporting
- Add value to the finance systems and processes by enhancing efficiencies and helping to implement process improvements
- Add support to the consolidation workflow process
Skills & Abilities:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in accountancy‑based roles, with strong knowledge of core finance principles
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (with knowledge of VLOOKUPs, SUMIFS, pivot tables etc.)
- Experience in both accounts payable and receivable, and in cash and bank management
- Excellent organisational and time‑management skills
- Excellent attention to detail to ensure all data and calculations are accurate
- Demonstrate ownership and responsibility for tasks, with a desire for continuous improvement
- Ability to work accurately under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- A pro‑active self‑starter who is good at taking initiative to find solutions
- An outstanding communicator who can build relationships and liaise effectively with all stakeholders
- Experience of working with Xero accounting software
- Accounting qualification such as ACA, CIMA, ACCA or AAT
Salary Range: £45-50k depending on experience
Work Location: Minimum 3 days in person at our Soho office (Tues‑Thurs)
Expected Start Date: August 2026, flexible. Note, this is a fixed‑term contract for 1 year for maternity cover, with the potential for this to be extended or become a permanent position dependent on the growth of the company.
