To support our growing customer base in UK and Europe, we are now looking for a Field Service Technician to join our European service team.
The Role
As a Field Service Technician, you will work directly at customer sites, carrying out installation support, commissioning, inspection, maintenance, and repair of Fike’s explosion protection and safety systems. This role suits a practical, electrically skilled technician who enjoys working independently, travelling frequently, and solving technical problems on-site. You will mainly work across UK, with occasional assignments in other EU countries. When not travelling, administrative tasks and reporting are performed from your home office.
Key Responsibilities
- Commissioning, inspection, preventive maintenance, and repair of explosion venting, suppression, and isolation systems
- Electrical installation checks, testing, and fault-finding on control panels, sensors, cabling, and safety devices
- Troubleshoot system issues and implement corrective actions
- Perform site inspections and ensure systems meet safety and regulatory requirements
- Provide professional on-site support and clear technical explanations to customers
- Complete service reports, checklists, and documentation accurately and on time
- Plan and manage your own daily work and travel activities
- Participate in an emergency call-out rota in line with Danish working time regulations
- Follow Fike SHEQ policies and all relevant safety procedures
- Support colleagues in other European regions when required
What We’re Looking For
- Strong electrical background (industrial electrical work, fault-finding, testing)
- Technical experience as a service technician, electrician, automation technician, or similar
- Basic mechanical / electronical understanding and willingness to work hands-on with equipment
- Ability to read electrical diagrams and technical documentation
- Comfortable working independently at industrial customer sites
- Safety-focused, structured, and reliable working style
- Willingness to travel extensively (approx. 80–90%)
- Good communication skills and customer-oriented mindset
- Valid EU driving license
- You are located in the Northern part of UK (Ideally between Hartlepool and Manchester)
Qualifications & Experience
- Technical education in electrical installation, automation, industrial technology, or similar is preferred.
- Experience in field service, industrial maintenance, or electrical service work is an advantage
- Candidates with strong practical electrical skills but different technical backgrounds are welcome
- Comfortable using standard IT tools (Windows, email, basic reporting tools)
- English working proficiency (spoken and written).
