About Us
Figura has been designing and handcrafting bespoke kitchens, cabinetry and interiors for high-end residential homes since 1991. We work on period country houses, listed buildings and contemporary homes across Surrey, Sussex and London — projects where thoughtful design, quality craftsmanship and careful delivery all matter equally. We are a small, close-knit team based in Chiddingfold in the Surrey Hills. Our showroom is in a beautiful converted bakery on the village green. We work directly with private clients, architects and specialist contractors, and we take pride in doing things properly — from the first conversation to the final installation.
The Role
This is a genuinely varied, hands-on role at the heart of a small, busy design business. No two days look the same. You might spend the morning coordinating a delivery and supplier quotes, the afternoon helping prepare a client presentation, and a few minutes in between answering a showroom enquiry or updating our Instagram. You will be the person who keeps things organised, communicates clearly on our behalf and makes sure nothing gets missed. It suits someone who enjoys being useful across many different things, takes ownership naturally, and is happiest in an environment where they can see the direct impact of their work. This is not a design lead role, but a genuine interest in interiors and an eye for quality are important — you will be surrounded by both every day.
What You Will Be Doing
- Project Coordination & Procurement: Coordinating suppliers, trades, deliveries and site schedules across multiple live projects. Tracking orders, managing procurement, chasing quotes, liaising with clients and contractors, pricing and helping ensure everything runs smoothly from design through to installation. Site visits will occasionally be required.
- Business Administration: Managing diaries, appointments and correspondence. Maintaining project files and documentation. Supporting the day-to-day running of the business including insurance, service contracts and general office administration. The office is often quiet and self-managed during the day — you will need to be comfortable working independently and using your own initiative.
- Client & Showroom: You will often be the first point of contact for clients and visitors. Welcoming people to the showroom, understanding and confidently presenting what sets us apart, handling enquiries and calls, supporting meetings and presentations, and maintaining the warm, professional environment that Figura is known for.
- Marketing Support: Helping with social media posts and content, website updates, newsletters and client communications. Supporting the Directors with marketing ideas and materials, and using Canva to help with presentations. We are not looking for a marketing specialist — just someone engaged, visually aware and happy to muck in.
- Surrey Hills Collective Support: Figura is a founding member of Surrey Hills Collective. The role includes some administrative and coordination support for Collective activities, including events, meetings and communications.
About You
You are organised, adaptable and proactive. You communicate confidently — whether that is with a client over the phone, a supplier chasing a delivery, or a contractor on site. You bring a calm, practical energy to whatever you are working on and you take pride in doing things well. You will be comfortable working independently in a small, quiet office environment. You will not need constant direction — you will use your judgement, ask when you need to, and get on with it. You might have worked in interiors, architecture, property, a design practice or a similar environment. What matters most is that you understand the world we work in, you are genuinely interested in what we do, and you are the kind of person who makes a small team work better.
