We’re looking for an Engineering Manager to join the Developer Tools team at Figma. This team is building solutions targeting mainly frontend and full stack developers, helping them bring products from idea to production faster than ever.
This is a full time role that can be held from our London hub or remotely in the UK.
What you’ll do at Figma:
- Manage and support a team of product engineers focused on building and expanding Figma’s developer offerings, including Dev Mode, MCP, Code Connect, and more
- Partner closely with cross‑functional stakeholders to coordinate work across product, design, engineering, and other functions
- Define strategy & roadmap for your team and execute on that roadmap with a high degree of autonomy, velocity, and craftsmanship
- Provide hands‑on technical leadership to your teams and others that collaborate with your teams to ensure a cohesive product experience and the right technical abstractions
- Recruit, mentor, and retain high‑performing engineers (and help with other cross‑functional roles). Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and taking calculated risks
- Help build an inclusive and diverse team, contributing to hiring, community events, and other programs in partnership with teams across Figma
We’d love to hear from you if you have:
- 2+ years of experience managing software engineers working on products used by external users
- A proven track record of building AI‑powered products (both as a manager and individual contributor) that are best in class in user experience
- Demonstrated ability to tie product and engineering work to clear business impact
- Demonstrated leadership skills in building a high‑performing and highly engaged engineering team, including mentoring, and growing senior engineers
- Strong ability to build and operate fast‑moving teams that balance innovation with execution
- Genuine curiosity and enthusiasm for emerging AI technologies and their application to user‑facing products
While not required, it’s an added plus if you also have:
- Experience building large‑scale systems using React, C++, and/or Ruby
- Experience building & maintaining open source software and/or libraries for developers
- Knowledge and experience in generative AI, RAG, the fine‑tuning process and its application to creative products
