Our interns are embedded into small, collaborative engineering teams across the company.
You'll work closely with your mentor and teammates to ship meaningful features, tools, or systems.

Product: Build full stack user facing features, including new collaboration tools, new product workflows, growth oriented experiments, and more 2.
Platform/Infrastructure: Build platform level tools, including distributed systems, developer tooling, performance/scalability work, and more 3.
Security
Engineering: Build security-focused systems, product security tooling, detection, secure infrastructure, or privacy/security features 4.
Open: I'm flexible and still exploring different types of work
What you’ll do at Figma
- Join a small engineering team as a full member of the team, with your own project and mentor
- Contribute to projects that directly align with team goals and impact
- Collaborate with engineers, PMs, designers, and QA to break down features and plan timelines
- Build, document, and maintain tests, features, or infrastructure
- Share feedback and participate in peer code review

Requirements
To ensure the integrity of our hiring process and facilitate a more personal connection, we require all candidates keep their cameras on during video interviews.
Additionally, if hired you will be required to attend in person onboarding.
- Experience writing clean code in at least one general-purpose language (e. g.
C++, Java Script, Python, Java, etc.), with a solid grasp of core CS concepts like data structures and algorithms
- Experience solving technical problems through school, work, or personal projects
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools (e. g., Git Hub Copilot, Chat GPT, Claude) to write, debug, and optimize code
- Demonstrated curiosity about how systems are designed and operate, from infrastructure to UI
- Strong communicator who asks great questions, collaborates well with others, and is excited to learn, get feedback, and grow as an engineer
