Fifty5Blue is a global leader in media measurement and analytics, operating in more than 80 countries. We bring clarity to complexity. Our independent, hybrid cross-media audience measurement combines trusted audience panels with large-scale data to establish a single, coherent view across platforms and markets. This gives content owners, advertisers, agencies and platforms the clarity and confidence to develop content and plan advertising decisively.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a passion for TV audience research and a curiosity for how measurement technology works behind the scenes. On behalf of Barb Audiences, Fifty5Blue creates the audience data that underpins the TV and video market in the UK, measuring viewing across linear and on demand, constantly adapting to new ways of watching.

As Manager, TV Audience Measurement, you’ll play a hands-on role in shaping and evolving how Barb measures television viewing across the UK. Sitting within the wider Barb research team, and reporting to the Senior Manager, Audience Measurement, you will help deliver a robust, future-facing measurement system that reflects how audiences really watch TV today. Blending audience insight, technical understanding and delivery focus, this role combines data analysis, development coordination and stakeholder engagement. You’ll work closely with product and technology teams to ensure that changes to Barb’s measurement systems are thoroughly tested, understood, and deliver against research objectives and client needs. This role is ideal for someone who understands TV audiences and is eager to deepen their technical expertise in audience measurement systems and methodologies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the ongoing enhancement of Barb’s TV audience measurement, identifying opportunities to improve accuracy, coverage and insight.
  • Translate research and client needs into clear development briefs, ensuring outputs are aligned to how the data will be used.
  • Work closely with product and technology teams to ensure developments are delivered smoothly and meet agreed objectives.
  • Review test outputs and contribute to the research-led sign-off of software and system releases, ensuring they behave as expected and deliver against client and methodological requirements.
  • Analyse and interpret audience data, presenting findings in a clear, compelling and accessible way.
  • Evaluate the impact of system or methodological changes, helping stakeholders understand implications for reporting and usage.
  • Lead the evaluation of test results and measurement changes, ensuring implications are well understood and communicated.
  • Present findings and recommendations to Barb, stakeholders, and senior leadership.
  • Respond to audience data queries, developing expertise in methodologies, outputs and data structures.
  • Build strong working relationships with Barb, internal teams and external stakeholders.
Skills and Knowledge Required
  • Background in TV audience research, media measurement or a related field.
  • Strong analytical skills, with confidence in handling and interpreting data.
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups) and the ability to communicate insights effectively using PowerPoint or similar tools.
  • Knowledge of data manipulation languages is desirable (SQL, Python).
  • Interest in technical systems and how measurement data is produced, processed and validated.
  • Knowledge of tools such as TechEdge is advantageous.
  • Strong organisational and project coordination skills.
  • Curious, proactive mindset with a desire to understand how things work and how they can be improved.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams.
