This is a full-time contract position, based in our London office. We operate on a hybrid working arrangement and require a minimum of 2 days in the office. Overview:The Financial Controller for the UK and Global functions (HQ, Product, Global Operations, IT) is responsible for overseeing all financial accounting and reporting for the market and HQ, ensuring accurate financial reporting and supporting strategic decision-making. This role reports to the Group FC, and partners closely with our newly formed shared services centre partner in Romania, UK Regional FD, UK Finance business partners, Group Finance Director, Head of Group FP&A, Global Functions Finance Business Partners, Global HQ business stakeholders.
Overall objective of role is to ensure financial reporting and controls are accurate, complete, timely and efficient. Day to day management of team of 2 in UK.
Key Responsibilities:- Financial Controllership & Reporting: Overseeing and managing accounting services delivery from Genpact Romania - hold Genpact accountable for reporting of Actual results on timely, accurate and completeness basis, including review of KPIs, Ways-Of-Working and driving continuous improvements, and acting as point of escalation and critical review of outputs.
- Lead financial close meetings with BPO (Genpact) during month end, and also post month-end/Quarterly reviews.
- Support the business in working with SSC (set up phase and then ongoing).
- Sign offs (POs, payroll, banking, payment approvals, change in customer or supplier data - where needed - either 1st person or back up details TBC).
- Provide support on Treasury outputs including dividends and cash flow/management.
- Review, and drive improvements in working capital, including billing, bad and overdue debtors and accrued income, and suppliers.
- Monthly review that MPLBs eliminate.
- Review Interco balances and mismatch process.
- Manage balance sheet review process and make sure Genpact and FBPs have fully reconciled support.
- Super user for ERP and OneStream in region.
- Line management of controlling and accounting manager (UK market) and management accountant.
- IFRS 16 accounting.
- Drive best practices in region.
- Compliance with Group reporting requirements.
- Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing process for all UK and Global Function entities.
- Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with IFRS/local GAAP and internal reporting standards.
- Review and approve accounting statements and reconciliations e.g. Balance Sheet Reconciliations.
- Prepare variance analysis, management reports, KPI dashboards, and performance insights for leadership.
- Oversee posting of all payroll journals and review movements for any discrepancies and corrections.
- Complete forecast and Budget for UK market Corporate centre, with C&A manager.
- Ensure strong internal controls and adherence to corporate policies.
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors.
- Manage audit process with Deloitte/auditors, including preparation of stat accounts, and recs of Maconomy to One Stream.
- Manage any other external reporting, and Board mins with KPMG.
- Ensure tax compliance (VAT, CIT, transfer pricing documentation) in collaboration with tax advisors.
- Support global team on transforming policies and controls across Media Division as becomes operationally separate.
- Coordinating controls review and audits across media division.
- Monitor cash flow, working capital, and credit control across the region.
- Support treasury operations, including banking relationships and FX exposure management.
- Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, automation, and reporting quality.
- Support ERP implementation, upgrades, and data integrity initiatives.
- Bachelor's or master's degree in finance, Accounting, Business, or related field.
- Professional certification (CPA, ACCA, CMA, or equivalent).
- 5-10+ years of experience in financial controlling and accounting.
- Experience managing financial operations in multinational or multi-entity environments.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and Nordic statutory requirements.
- Advanced Excel and ERP proficiency (D365, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or equivalent).
- Experience working in matrix organizations and Shared Service Centre.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
