At Fifth Ring, we help B2B brands Own Their Space. We work with clients in energy, maritime, technology and manufacturing — industries at the heart of global change — and we do it through smart, insight-led communications that build reputations and deliver measurable results. We are looking for a PR Manager to join our award-winning team and lead public relations programmes for some of the most respected names in their sectors.

This is a role for someone who can think in strategy and lead from the front. Someone who can shape a campaign, build the client relationships that make it happen, and bring the creative ideas that help a business stand out in a crowded, complex market. If you know how to build a brand's reputation and turn communications into real commercial value, this is your kind of remit.

What it's like to work here. Fifth Ring is a place where smart thinking meets bold creativity. We are a certified Great Place to Work — global, collaborative and values-driven. Our core values guide how we work every day: Master our subject. Act with integrity. Dare to be different. Aspire to greatness. Inspire each other.

As PR Manager in Aberdeen, you'll sit at the senior end of a team that takes B2B communications seriously, advising clients across international markets, representing the agency at industry level, and helping shape the reputations of businesses operating in genuinely complex, high-stakes industries.

The role. As PR Manager, you will lead the development and delivery of public relations strategies that add measurable value to our clients' businesses and to ours. You will lead PR programmes and campaigns through well-researched account planning, strong scopes of work, careful budget management and confident team leadership — delivering award-winning work on time and on budget.

At the heart of the role are the client relationships. You'll build and maintain strong relationships with senior client contacts, making sure we're speaking to the right people at the right time, identify and grow key accounts, and lead the negotiations that keep those relationships thriving. You'll bring the creative and dynamic ideas that increase our clients' marketability, and troubleshoot with a steady hand when it's needed.

Beyond client work, you'll represent Fifth Ring at a senior level through networking and industry presentations, support new-business proposals with sharp thinking, timescales and budgets, and take a senior role in bringing inbound and account-based marketing to clients. You'll coach and mentor the team around you, work closely with our Traffic Manager to keep delivery running smoothly, and contribute to Fifth Ring's own content and thinking.

There's also a crisis communications and emergency response element available to the right person. Working alongside our PR and Crisis Communications Manager, you could provide crisis counsel and reactive PR support and join the emergency response on-call rota (with full training) — a valuable string to your bow if it's an area that interests you.

What you'll bring. You will bring solid PR experience spanning strategic campaign planning, media relations and reactive PR, alongside a formal qualification in PR, marketing, journalism or a related field. You have worked in a client-facing environment, you understand the media, and you have agency and management experience behind you.

You are an excellent writer and confident presenter, detail-oriented, commercially aware, and comfortable operating and influencing at a senior level. Experience of the oil and gas industry, B2B marketing, and a track record of developing and delivering winning pitches will all serve you well here. Crisis communications and emergency response experience is welcome too, though not essential.

Sound like your kind of role? If you want a role where strategic thinking, strong client relationships and creative communications are genuinely valued, and where your work shapes the reputations of businesses operating on the world stage, we would like to hear from you. Closing date is 4th September at 12 noon BST.
