We are looking for a Junior Portfolio Analyst to support the Head of Analysis and Development within a dynamic and growing business. This is an exciting opportunity to work across various aspects of portfolio management, with exposure to both new funding opportunities and the ongoing oversight of the existing loan book.
This role involves detailed analysis and research of development loan applications, preparing materials for credit committee review, and assisting with the management of borrower relationships. You’ll contribute to regular portfolio reviews and play a key role in maintaining robust underwriting and investment standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Conducting in-depth due diligence on funding opportunities, including scenario analysis, local market research, and financial modelling
- Supporting the preparation of credit papers and internal board reporting
- Assisting in the creation and maintenance of internal models
- Handling documentation and administration for new loan facilities
- Performing market research and reviewing economic trends to inform analysis
- Assisting with audit tasks and managing interest/redemption statements
- Updating portfolio systems and producing regular and ad hoc reporting
- Identifying opportunities for process automation and efficiency
- Engaging regularly with property professionals and SME developers
- Representing the Portfolio team across the wider business
- Attending site visits for active developments and new opportunities
Key Attributes
- Strong numeracy and analytical skills, with a background in financial analysis and modelling
- Credit analysis experience with the ability to produce high-quality, structured reports
- Understanding of financial risk concepts
- Familiarity with legal documentation is advantageous
- Able to work independently and take initiative, as well as collaborate within a team
- Organised and adaptable with strong multitasking abilities
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with confidence speaking to stakeholders and non-technical audiences
- Customer-focused with strong relationship-building skills
- Prior experience in real estate debt or development finance is preferred
- A full UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle are desirable
