Job Description
Supervise Leisure Centre users including adults, youths, children, and groups, ensuring the safe use of facilities and equipment, and maintaining cleanliness of the building.
Requirements
- Current RLSS National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ)
- Obtain PVG scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland before appointment
Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness of designated areas and control of facilities
- Issue and safeguard clothing and personal belongings in the changing facilities
- Assemble and dismantle facilities and equipment, including sports and exhibition displays
- Oversee safety and behaviour of the public, directing activities to prevent injury or damage
- Follow operating procedures, including Emergency Action Plan and Safety policies
- Attend regular Health & Safety training and maintain competency
- Assist users in difficulty using appropriate appliances, including lifesaving skills
- Patrol the building for maintenance and security purposes
- Supervise children’s activities, including birthday parties and activity camps
- Carry out pool tests and assist in plant room operations as appropriate
- Attend training to maintain skills and fitness standards
- Perform basic administrative tasks such as bookings, cash handling, and customer reception
- Undertake other duties as required by centre management
