The Role
We have an exciting opportunity to join our operational team as a Catering Assistant at Rothes Halls. You will be part of the onsite catering team undertaking duties relating to the operation of our cafe, preparing/serving food and beverages, recording payments and general kitchen, bar and dining room duties. You will ensure all working and public areas are kept safe and provide visitor engagement and support. This post is for 20 hours per week working Monday to Friday 10am to 2pm; however flexibility is required to meet the business needs, and this may include weekend and evening working. Due to the nature of events there is also scope to pick up additional hours.
- Operate the cafe and kitchen, including food preparation and beverage service.
- Record payments and manage cash handling responsibilities.
- Maintain safety standards in all working and public areas.
- Engage with visitors and provide a professional, courteous service.
- Adapt to flexible working schedules, including weekends and evenings.
About You
- Previous experience in a similar role.
- Knowledge of health and safety requirements.
- Understanding the workings of a catering environment is desirable.
- Team player with energetic, positive and flexible ‘can do’ attitude.
- Good literacy and numeracy skills.
- Professional and courteous service to visitors.
- Bar experience is preferred but not essential.
