Overview

If you have an interest in the provision of school meals for children of all ages, you could be perfect for this career. Join one of our many teams of Catering Assistants in primary schools and nurseries within Kirkcaldy, Leven, St Andrews and Cupar. We have vacancies to join our teams working various hours per day as required, Monday to Friday. This post is 30 hours per week Monday to Friday working on a 38 week contract. You will earn a competitive salary of £25,885.80 – £28,175.91 pro-rata and have access to a range of benefits, including:

  • £13.79 per hour to start, plus extra payments for shift work, including weekends.
  • Pay is 4 weekly.
  • Travel expenses will be paid – we pay 45 pence per mile to staff using their own car.
  • Access to and support with training opportunities and qualifications for the job.
  • Local and national discounts including supermarkets, restaurants and retail!
  • Generous holiday allowance.
  • Membership of Fife Pension Fund which is part of the Scottish Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS Scotland).

Training on all in house systems will be provided.

Working towards an Intermediate Food Hygiene Certificate will be essential once in post if not already held.

Catering experience or a qualification such as an SVQ, City & Guilds or equivalent is essential for this post.

Provide a regular and effective service, working alone or as part of a team.

Have the ability to travel throughout Fife within a limited timescale.

You will be required to attend induction training before starting in post.

Before confirming to your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme.
