Mobile Assistant Janitor based at Bell Baxter High School, covering all janitorial duties along with cleaning and school crossing patrols. The main role for this post is securing the building at the end of the day. We currently have a permanent vacancy to join our team within Schools and Nurseries in the Cupar area, Monday to Friday.
Base – Bell Baxter High School Mobile Assistant Janitor - 25 hours per week, 52-week contract working from 3:00pm to 8:00pm. Enhanced rates are paid for hours worked after 8:00pm. You will earn a competitive salary of £23,783.40 to £24,890.91 per year and have access to a range of benefits, including:

Undertaking prescribed cleaning procedures as directed in various establishments and ensuring all bodily fluid/spillages are dealt with in accordance with Service guidelines. Ensuring that educational establishments and grounds are opened at prescribed times, and that they are secure at the end of the working day. Co-operating with all appropriate personnel and agencies in maintaining the security of the premises. A willingness to complete additional training as required. Responding to emergency call-outs in accordance with established procedures, including attending at the location, contacting appropriate authorities, inspecting for damage and theft, effecting repair and where necessary, liaising with contractors/emergency services on site. Have the ability to travel to other locations within the specified area of work as required - a current Driving Licence is required for council vehicles. Carrying out prescribed procedures in the event of fire, flooding, accident, or damage including liaising with appropriate staff, contractors etc.
The Person
Before confirming your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme. Ability to provide a regular and effective service, working alone or as part of a team. Driver’s licence required for Council Vehicle provided to carry out duties. You will be required to attend an Induction Training Day before starting in post.
