To deliver high-quality glazing services for the maintenance and repair of council tenanted properties, non-tenanted properties, and public buildings across Fife.

The Person

  • Time-served craftsperson in required trade as recognised by industry board.
  • Local authority experience.
  • Experience in most aspects of the glazing trade including fixing.
  • Full Driving Licence.
  • Carry out all aspects of glazing work within a maintenance, contractual planned maintenance or contracts environment.
  • Learn new techniques with training as necessary.
  • Setting out new work as appropriate to the glazing trade using relevant machinery without supervision.
  • A good understanding of other trades is essential to maintain flexibility within service.
  • Good communication skills both oral and written.
  • Good team worker and team player.
  • Ability to perform well in a demand-driven environment.
  • Ability to prioritise work, meet deadlines and respond positively when under pressure.
  • Ability to interpret instructions from job tickets for material requirements, etc.
  • Rational and methodical approach to problem solving.
  • Health & Safety awareness and understanding appropriate to role.
  • Customer service awareness and focus.
  • Ability to work from ladder and scaffold systems, access platforms and mobile elevated work platforms.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces.
  • Competency in the use of glazing machinery/equipment.
  • Ability to carry out all assigned work to a high standard of workmanship, good practice and customer care.

Before confirming your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme.
