Do you have Catering Experience or a Qualification such as an SVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent? We have a permanent vacancy for an Assistant Cook in Dunfermline: Lynburn Primary School – 25 hours per week – 38-week contract (Monday to Friday 8:30am to 2:00pm).

Duties within this school include preparation of food and beverages and the organisation of the service of food. Duties may include transporting and serving of meals, general kitchen and dining room duties (for example washing up, setting up and clearing away equipment and tables), and cleaning of the kitchen, its surround and equipment. Completing required paperwork including electronic returns.

You will earn a competitive salary of £24,740.74 pro-rata and have access to a range of benefits, including:

  • £13.18 per hour, plus extra payments for shift work, including weekends.
  • Pay is annualised (equal instalments every 4 week pay period).

This work is about ensuring pupils and staff are provided with meals throughout the school day during term time - covering Breakfast, Morning Break and Lunch.

The Person: Catering Experience or a Qualification such as an SVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent is required. Before confirming your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme.

We particularly encourage applications from men, who are currently underrepresented within this type of work. You will be required to attend an Induction Training Day before starting in post.
