Why not join one of our many teams of Meals on Wheels staff within Fife? We have a vacancy to join our teams of Driver / Handlers at Meals on Wheels, Dunfermline. These posts ensure meals are delivered to the homes of service users who have pre ordered meals. Hours are mainly between 10am to 2pm over 7 days a week – the following permanent post is currently available:

Meals on Wheels – Dunfermline

2.75 hours Saturday & Sunday every second weekend as required.

Weekend Enhancements are paid for any hours worked on a Saturday or Sunday. You will earn a competitive salary of £24,740.74 pro-rata and have access to a range of benefits.

Pay is every 4 weeks. Generous holiday allowance. Membership of Fife Pension Fund which is part of the Scottish Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS Scotland). Access to and support with training opportunities and qualifications for the job. Local and national discounts including supermarkets, restaurants, and retail!

This work is about providing daily delivery of meals to service users on a specified daily route. Advising line manager regarding client welfare if required along with an understanding of client confidentiality. Completing relevant paperwork and general kitchen duties. Training to achieve an Elementary Food Hygiene Certificate will be given. A full driving licence is essential for this post.

Responsibilities

  • Provide daily delivery of meals to service users on a specified daily route; advise line manager regarding client welfare where required; maintain client confidentiality.
  • Complete relevant paperwork and undertake general kitchen duties.
  • Training to achieve an Elementary Food Hygiene Certificate will be given.

Requirements / Qualifications

  • Full driving licence is essential for this post.
  • Provision of Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland before appointment and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme.
  • Ability to provide a regular and effective service, working alone or as part of a team.
  • You will be required to attend an Induction Training Day before starting in post.

Remuneration and Benefits

  • Salary of £24,740.74 pro-rata; Local Government Living Wage of £13.18 per hour, plus extra payments for shift work, including weekends.
  • Weekend enhancements for hours worked on Saturdays or Sundays.
