EXCITING OPPORTUNITY | OPERATIONS MANAGER – CHILDREN’S RESIDENTIAL CARE
North Essex & Suffolk
£60,000–£70,000 per annum
We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to join an established, growing organisation overseeing children’s homes specialising in learning disabilities, complex care and challenging behaviours.
This is an excellent opportunity for a strong operational leader to support Registered Managers, drive quality and compliance, and help shape the continued growth of the organisation.
Key Responsibilities of Operations Manager
- Oversee the day-to-day operations and performance of multiple children’s homes.
- Support, mentor and develop Registered Managers and senior teams.
- Maintain high standards of safeguarding, care quality and regulatory compliance.
- Monitor quality assurance, audits, inspections and improvement plans.
- Ensure effective staffing, recruitment, training and workforce development.
- Manage budgets, occupancy and operational performance.
- Build positive relationships with Ofsted, local authorities, commissioners and other professionals.
- Drive service development and ensure children receive safe, consistent, person-centred care.
Qualifications & Experience required for Head of Care
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare, or equivalent relevant management qualification.
- Significant senior management experience within children’s residential care.
- Strong background supporting children with learning disabilities, complex needs and challenging behaviours.
- Thorough knowledge of Children’s Homes Regulations, safeguarding and Ofsted requirements.
- Proven leadership, quality assurance and multi-site management experience.
- A track record of improving standards and developing successful teams.
