Join Fieldfisher as a PR & Communications Manager! Fieldfisher is a leading international law firm with an ambitious growth agenda and an exceptionally supportive, friendly and dynamic culture. We are looking for an experienced Senior PR and Communications Manager to join our friendly and fast-paced PR and Communications team, which supports the firm’s sectors, practices and corporate communications priorities.

As a senior member of the team, the Senior Manager will act as a trusted communications adviser to partners and business leaders. They will take ownership of a portfolio of priority sectors and practices, developing and delivering integrated communications programmes that support business objectives, strengthen the firm’s reputation and raise the profile of its experts. This is a strategic and hands-on role. The successful candidate will be expected to set direction, influence senior stakeholders and lead high-impact campaigns, while retaining the judgement and writing ability needed to deliver excellent communications in a fast-moving professional services environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Strategy and senior stakeholder counsel: Lead the development and implementation of PR and communications strategies for aligned sectors and practices, ensuring activity supports the firm’s business priorities and growth ambitions. Act as a trusted adviser to partners, sector and practice leaders and senior business services stakeholders, providing clear and commercially focused communications counsel.
  • Media relations and profile-raising: Lead proactive media engagement for aligned sectors and practices, ensuring Fieldfisher’s experts have a credible voice on the issues that matter to clients and prospects. Build and maintain influential relationships with journalists across legal, national, international and trade media.
  • Content and integrated campaigns: Develop creative, integrated communications for campaigns and projects in partnership with business development, marketing, digital and international colleagues. Oversee and produce high-quality content, including news releases, commentary, op-eds and articles, adapting tone and format for different audiences and channels.
  • Internal communications and profile-raising: Develop internal communications for aligned sectors and practices, using the firm’s intranet and other channels to showcase achievements, support strategic priorities and improve engagement.
  • Team and network leadership: Collaborate with communications and marketing colleagues across Fieldfisher’s international network to support cross-border campaigns and share effective approaches. Provide guidance, constructive feedback and informal coaching to colleagues, contributing to the development of capability and consistently high standards across the team.

Qualifications and experience

  • At least eight years’ relevant PR and communications experience gained in-house, in an agency or through a combination of both.
  • Experience within a law firm or other professional services organisation is highly desirable; relevant experience in another complex, regulated or business-to-business environment will also be considered.
  • A strong record of developing and delivering successful communications strategies and integrated content campaigns that support business objectives and produce tangible outcomes.
  • Well-established media relations skills, with evidence of building productive relationships with journalists and securing high-quality national, legal, trade or sector coverage.
  • Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills, with the ability to make complex issues clear and compelling and adapt content for different styles, audiences and channels.
  • Strong judgement and experience advising senior stakeholders on media, profile and reputation matters, including the confidence to challenge constructively when required.
  • Experience of handling sensitive or fast-moving communications issues and remaining composed, accurate and focused under pressure.
  • Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritise competing demands, lead multiple workstreams and manage agencies or other third parties effectively.
  • A collaborative and influential working style, with the ability to build trusted relationships across functions, seniority levels, offices and jurisdictions.
  • A motivated and proactive approach, with the ability to work independently and a commitment to sustainable and responsible business practices.
