This is a busy, and varied role for an enthusiastic PD professional who enjoys working with people at their different career stages, and helping them be the best they want to be. This role is within the wider People Development team - which includes colleagues supporting the administration, coordination and training elements of PD.

Responsibilities include:

  • Advising and overseeing the design and delivery of training workshops and programmes to support our range of Business Skill Syllabuses, and in-house academies and programmes.
  • Managing the development and attendance of the FE Academy and Management Academy programmes.
  • Working with the Head of PD and Business Leaders/BSD's to identify the career development paths for their teams and advising on learning approaches and programmes to support progress.
  • Liaising with colleagues across the firm to advise on People Development needs and support solutions.
  • Advising on all CC and PD requirements for solicitors, barristers, trainee solicitors and legal executives.
  • Leads on in-house session delivery and Skills Syllabus for Fee Earners, Business Services and Legal Support Services.
  • Helping manage all stages of the PD learning cycle, including: learning needs analysis, design, delivery and evaluation.
  • Helping align PD planning to the wider firm strategy.
  • Oversees the sponsorship agreements and arrangements of professional qualifications.
  • Partnering and working with a range of external providers on the design and delivery of training.
  • Liaising with the PSL group and Training Reps on departmental training needs.
  • Assessing the success of career development plans and help colleagues make the most of learning opportunities.
  • Assisting on budget tracking of and negotiating learning contracts.
  • Managing the logistics of the PD team: supervising and supporting the junior members of the team.

  • Skilled facilitator who can lead engaging learning workshops.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to adapt to new software.
  • A proactive, self-motivated and flexible approach to work - with the ability to work independently, and collaboratively within a team.
  • Enthusiasm for learning and development processes.
  • Experience in a similar role in a professional services environment is desirable.
