We specialise in servicing clients with high-volume legal needs and focus on engagements involving eDisclosure, Contract Management and Legal Technology. We are looking to grow our footprint in Belfast by building a dedicated team to service our blue-chip client base.
Responsibilities
- We are seeking a negotiator who will be responsible for negotiating and executing various master trading documents on behalf of our clients.
- The ideal candidate will have a background in negotiating some financial services agreements with clients, with a particular focus on some of the Master Agreements such as ISDA, MSFTA, MRA, and MSLA as well as ancillary agreements such as CDEA, CSA, MRRA and FX Compensation Agreements.
- This role would work to US hours between 2-10pm or 1-9pm.
- Agreement Negotiation: Using either counterparty paper or our clients' agreement templates, the senior negotiator will be required to draft, negotiate, obtain internal approvals, and finally execute new arrangements with counterparties.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Build and maintain strong relationships with the client's legal, business, credit, risk and operations teams, to ensure that all negotiations are agreed and approved by the relevant people.
- Data Management: Ensuring that each negotiation is tracked and updated on our client portal so that the management information is up to date and reconciles against the client's internal systems.
- Training and Mentoring: Using your knowledge and experience, help to train and upskill junior members of the team, and act as a mentor for them as they embark on a negotiation career.
Experience and Knowledge
- A minimum of 3-4 years of experience in negotiating financial legal agreements, with some exposure to ISDA, MSFTA, MRA, and MSLA.
- Proven expertise in negotiating with counterparties in financial services, such as investment banks, asset managers, and hedge funds.
- Knowledge of derivatives, securities lending, and repo markets.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- A law degree or equivalent legal qualification is preferred.

- Familiarity with legal tech and innovative solutions for streamlining the negotiation process.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
