Fieldfisher's Real Estate team supports a wide range of national and international clients with meeting their transactional objectives. From initial strategic support to investment acquisitions or disposals, we advise on all aspects of real estate. We tailor our services to be solution-led, commercially minded and flexible to the requirements of a specific matter.

The vacancy is in our Manchester office, serving a variety of clients across the UK and beyond across an array of real estate sectors.

Responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced paralegal with a genuine interest in real estate work. The ability to prioritise what is at times a challenging workload, and to work under pressure, are key skills within the role. The right candidate will take ownership of their workload and support other colleagues on transactional real estate matters.

  • Calculating and preparing Stamp Duty Land Tax for a variety of transactions and the preparation of SDLT Returns on behalf of clients and ensuring prompt payment of tax due.
  • Preparing applications to Land Registry to complete the registration of sales, leases, charges and a variety of other land registration related matters.
  • Considering appropriate conveyancing searches and reviewing and reporting on them.
  • Obtaining official copies (including suites of referred documents etc) and undertaking searches at Land Registry (index map, pre-completion title and bankruptcy).
  • Undertaking pre-completion Company searches/Winding up searches.
  • Registration of charges at Companies House.
  • Various other administrative tasks including:
    • Dataroom management
    • Preparing electronic engrossments
    • Assisting with completing receipts and payment requisitions for accounts
    • Assisting with billing and payments
Experience and Knowledge
  • Undergraduate law degree or undergraduate degree with law conversion (2:1)
  • Previous experience working in a Real Estate Team would be an advantage, but not essential
  • Candidates must be very organised, enthusiastic, proactive with excellent attention to detail and IT literate.
