The Vacancy In our Financial Markets and Products group our banking lawyers provide expert advice on a wide variety of international and domestic banking and finance transactions, including acquisition finance, asset finance, funds finance, private banking and wealth management, real estate finance and receivables and asset-based lending. We have many years of experience in advising global investment banks, international and domestic banks, asset managers, investment funds (retail, institutional and alternative), private equity sponsors, other financial institutions, industry bodies, sovereign entities, corporate end-users and ultra-high net worth individuals. We are looking for a paralegal to work in our highly regarded but friendly banking practice, with a particular focus on banking transactions (acting both for lenders and for borrowers) but also assisting with restructuring and insolvency matters.

Responsibilities

  • Billable work:
  • drafting simple legal documents (i.e. corporate authorisations, short-form security documents, releases, Companies House forms etc.)
  • attending to CH filings (i.e. registrations and releases)
  • transaction management (i.e. co-ordination and collection of conditions precedent)
  • creation and operation of CP management
  • dealing with releases of security
  • ad-hoc company searches
  • reviewing constitutional documents
  • legal research tasks
  • proof reading documents
  • Post completion work:
    • creating e-bibles
    • scheduling original documents to be circulated
    • drafting covering letters
    • assistance with billing matters
  • Business Development tasks:
    • assistance with generating fee estimates
    • coordination of deal reporting
    • drafting engagement letters
    • assistance with drafting and proof-reading briefing papers and other publications
    • a degree of client exposure once working relationships are established
