What sets us apart is our unique position: we provide the operational strength and agility of a specialist legal services provider, backed by the breadth, depth and assurance of a leading international law firm. This combination enables us to apply both technical expertise and commercial insight to every matter, giving clients a seamlessly integrated, end‐to‐end service.
We are seeking a commercially driven Business Development and Marketing Manager to accelerate the growth of our Alternative Legal Solutions Platform. This exciting role sits at the intersection of marketing, sales enablement, and partner engagement. You will be responsible for creating compelling marketing and sales collateral, building strong relationships with fee earners across the law firm, and proactively engaging prospects to generate and convert new opportunities. The role requires someone who is equally comfortable crafting a narrative as they are having consultative sales conversations with senior legal professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Marketing Campaigns & Collateral: Develop clear, engaging marketing and sales collateral, including pitch decks, case studies, brochures, one‐pagers, proposals, and thought leadership content.
- Translate complex legal service offerings into simple, outcome‐focused value propositions tailored to different audiences (partners, associates, legal ops, in‐house teams).
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure messaging is consistent, current, and aligned to our broader commercial strategy.
- Identify media opportunities and issue press releases on newsworthy developments.
- Support content development for articles, thought leadership, and award submissions.
- Assist with social media outreach and content planning.
- Bids, Pitches and Legal Directories: Identify and research prospective clients and opportunities across target markets.
- Conduct outbound outreach via email, calls, and events to arrange introductory and follow‐up sales meetings.
- Support the sales process from initial meeting through to proposal and onboarding, working alongside senior stakeholders where appropriate.
- Maintain accurate records of activity, pipeline, and progress through CRM or reporting tools.
- Gather feedback from partners, prospects, and clients to inform product positioning and future service development.
- Monitor competitor offerings and market trends within alternative legal services and legal technology.
Experience and Qualifications
- Degree educated, ideally in business, marketing, communications, or a related field.
- Proven experience in business development, marketing, or sales enablement, ideally within legal services, professional services, or B2B platforms.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create persuasive, well‐structured commercial materials.
- Confidence engaging with senior legal professionals, including law firm partners and in‐house stakeholders.
- A proactive, self‐starting mindset with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Proficiency in digital marketing, social media, and CRM tools.

We are a European law firm at our core. With 1,800 people across 28 offices across 14 countries you might expect an impersonal office culture, but you will find a homely, family feel even in the largest offices.
Quality on both sides: Across all our offices and jurisdictions are market-leading practices in corporate/M&A, finance, real estate, energy and natural resources, technology and life sciences. We count as clients large corporations including major technology firms, pharmaceutical and life sciences companies, energy suppliers, infrastructure companies, global banks and financial institutions. It is great being in a firm which "gets" cross-office working – to feel properly part of a national team and to work with colleagues in other specialisms who are unconstrained by geography.
I'm pleased that staff is able to have input in the firm's direction and purpose as well as help to shape wider society. Since joining Fieldfisher in 2016, I have progressed from an entry-level secretarial role to an experienced executive assistant. This was made possible by a supportive and inclusive working environment that allows staff to progress at a pace that is best suited to them which in turn makes for well-rounded, home-grown talent. The firm strikes a great balance between providing the foundations for success and autonomy of your own growth and development. An insight I would give to potential applicants is that Fieldfisher offers the opportunity for a career and a sense of belonging to a community and not just a job.
