Join a dynamic and fast-paced People Development team at Fieldfisher, where you will play a crucial role in supporting our training and development initiatives. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to maintaining excellence in employee development and ensuring the seamless execution of various training and growth programmes. The People Development team, which is part of the wider HR department, services all of our European network of offices, as well as providing support to our US office. We work closely with the firm's lawyers, business services and legal support services to help boost them from where they are now to where they need to be to provide the best service to their clients.
Through our Business Skills curricula, Academy programmes and other programmes and projects, we enable people to build new capabilities and grow their existing skillsets, to ensure they can meet their individual, team and firm objectives.
Responsibilities include:
- Working with the Graduate Recruitment Team and HR to help advise on all PD requirements for solicitors, barristers, trainee solicitors and legal executives and helping record training hours.
- Helping identify capability gaps and implementing learning approaches and programmes to bridge these gaps.
- Supporting on the annual training schedule and delivery of the Business Skills Syllabus for all European Offices and Silicon Valley.
- Assisting on the development and running of core PD Programmes (these are likely to include the trainee programmes, FE Academies, Business Skills Syllabus and others as the need arises).
- Helping advise on the design and delivery on training programmes for entry level joiners (E.g. Trainees Solicitors, Apprentices, Trainee Legal Support Services and Legal Practitioners).
- Advising on discrete programmes (e.g. the working parent programme, and Expectant Parents workshop).
- Assisting with the design and delivery some of the in-house skills training sessions.
- Supporting on the completion of the annual PD deliverables.
- Liaising with external providers on occasion for delivery of programmes.
- Liaising with the PSL group and Training Reps on departmental training needs.
- Liaising with colleagues across the firm to advise on People Development needs.
- Working with the wider HR team to support HR/PD initiatives.
- Being a key contact for Managers and LSS Team Leaders.
- Research and project coordination as required.
- Coordinating the internal Academy programmes and flagship programmes such as Path to Partnership and the New Partner Transition programme.

- Confident communication, and ability to engage and collaborate with internal colleagues.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to adapt to new software.
- A proactive, self-motivated and flexible approach to work - with the ability to work independently, and collaboratively within a team.
- Experience in a similar role in a professional services environment is desirable.
