Supporting EPG leaders and teams, this is a strategic role focused on key client development, cross-selling and new business generation. This is also a coordinating role, facilitating close collaboration and information-sharing between EPG team members across all countries. It requires a proactive, market and client-facing approach, assisting the teams in establishing stronger client relationships and an external network of contacts and targets to help drive profitable new business and improve the group's market profile.
Responsibilities
- EPG strategy: Work closely with EPG heads to develop and implement the group's international strategy and business plan. Drive the execution of the strategy and its effective communication to the firm, its target clients and the wider market. Monitor and measure the progress of the key EPG strategy goals and communicate performance to key stakeholders on a routine basis, highlighting development opportunities and progress against objectives. Build trusted advisor relationships with EPG Heads and provide commercial, robust BD guidance to the entire EPG internationally.
- Client relationship management and targeting: Lead the EPG client development programme. Drive the origination of BD opportunities and help convert new opportunities into client work. Develop the group's targeting programme with a key objective to market our services to key international clients and intermediaries as a joined up international group. Develop intermediary relationships and channels that will contribute to the achievement of the EPG business plan and key goals. Develop external relationships with key organisations, agencies and individuals that can assist us in winning business, raising our profile or partnering on initiatives. Participate in client listening within key EPG clients to promote retention and growth.
- Campaign delivery, profile raising and cross selling: Lead on campaign development and delivery to achieve high BD activity for the EPG and increase its profile in the market. Project-manage the full cycle of EPG campaigns providing insight into ROI and performance. Work collaboratively with the firm's PR, Events and Digital teams to strengthen the EPG market profile and ensure that the EPG has an effective digital media presence and a profile-raising plan combining regular client alerts and media engagement.
- Market research and business analysis: Undertake business analysis as required to support the business planning process or specific BD initiatives. Provide knowledge, insight and strategic guidance on European practice developments, horizon scans and opportunities. Help channel industry knowledge and horizon scans to EPG clients and targets.
- Marketing infrastructure: Oversee the development of a reliable infrastructure and process in relation to the EPG marketing collateral, intranet and website pages, practice newsletters, client mailing lists and alerts, credentials database and the local use of the firm's CRM system. Manage the EPG BD & marketing budget effectively and to plan. Work with Event colleagues to develop an event plan that supports the EPG. Provide supervision and support on RFPs, pitches, directories and award submissions.
- Co-ordination: Facilitate collaboration with the firm's sector and the key client programmes to ensure full coordination of activities and identify key opportunities for involvement.
- Business Development skills development and training: Provide strategic advice and ongoing development of BD knowledge and skills. Organise Business Development training for EPG teams and individuals.
