The Vacancy Overview Fieldfisher is seeking an experienced Finance Reporting & Business Intelligence Lead to own and evolve the firm's Finance reporting and business intelligence platform. Working closely with Finance, Business Services and IT Data Engineering, the successful candidate will lead the development, governance and optimisation of Power BI and Microsoft Fabric reporting solutions, semantic models and management information that support Partners, Finance leadership and Practice Groups. The role will assume ownership of reporting assets delivered through the Finance reporting transformation programme and drive the strategic roadmap for future reporting and analytics capabilities Responsibilities The role will primarily include, but is not limited to, the below tasks: Own and lead the Finance Power BI and Microsoft Fabric reporting estate. Develop, maintain and enhance dashboards, reports and semantic models. Deliver reporting across revenue, WIP, billing, debtors, profitability, budgeting and financial performance. Partner with Finance stakeholders to define reporting requirements, KPIs and insight needs. Ensure reporting accuracy through robust validation, reconciliation and quality controls. Lead the transformation and rationalisation of the Finance reporting landscape, eliminating duplication and establishing a trusted single source of truth. Maintain reporting governance, security, standards and best practices. Establish sustainable support, documentation and operational processes to ensure reporting solutions remain scalable, auditable and supportable. Provide reporting support, training and guidance to business users. Experience & Knowledge Advanced Power BI development expertise, including DAX, Power Query, SQL and semantic modelling. Extensive experience developing, optimising and supporting complex enterprise-scale semantic models and reporting datasets, including large finance data models containing 20+ tables, complex relationships and multiple reporting subject areas. Advanced T-SQL development skills, including tables, views, stored procedures, query tuning and performance optimisation. Strong understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, management information, KPI reporting and financial performance analysis. Experience managing large-scale Finance reporting environments, including dashboard rationalisation, legacy report migration, reporting governance and support operating models. Strong expertise in Microsoft Fabric and Power BI, including Lakehouse architecture, Direct Lake, semantic models, data integration, security, governance and platform administration, with responsibility for delivering secure, scalable and supportable enterprise reporting solutions. Expert knowledge of Fabric security, including workspace roles, app audiences, item permissions and Row-Level Security (RLS). Strong understanding of authentication and connectivity methods, including OAuth, Service Principals, Managed Identities and Workspace Identities. Experience designing, implementing and supporting Lakehouse tables, Direct Lake storage mode, semantic model optimisation and refresh strategies. Understanding of D365 Finance & Operations data structures, entities and reporting requirements is desirable. Experience validating, reconciling and analysing financial data to ensure reporting accuracy, integrity and consistency across multiple systems and data sources. Ability to translate complex financial and operational data into clear, actionable business insights and recommendations. Experience eliciting and documenting business requirements, facilitating stakeholder workshops and engaging effectively with senior business stakeholders. Knowledge of legal, professional services or partnership-based reporting environments is desirable.
