Our Structured Finance team works closely with colleagues across Financial Regulation, Funds, Insurance and Reinsurance, Banking and Derivatives, collaborating across Fieldfisher's European network and beyond to deliver integrated, commercial financing solutions for a diverse client base. The team covers a wide range of transactions, including private securitisations, structured insurance and reinsurance transactions, and asset servicing contracts. We value lawyers who are intellectually curious, collaborative, and eager to explore opportunities across practice areas. While experience in structured finance would be helpful, we consider outstanding candidates with other relevant experience looking to specialise. Responsibilities
- Supporting the structuring, negotiation and documentation of structured finance transactions
- Proactively managing matters with appropriate supervision
- Working on transactions involving complex features, extensive documentation and multiple jurisdictions
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships, with high levels of direct client contact
- Communicating clearly and effectively with clients and other stakeholders
- Contributing to the team’s business development strategy, including preparing briefing papers and client updates, attending and presenting at client seminars and events, and developing and maintaining contacts within client organisations
Experience and Knowledge
- A strong technical understanding of structured finance
- Qualification as a lawyer (0-5 PQE) in England and Wales or another common law jurisdiction
- Experience advising on structured finance transactions or other complex financing arrangements
- Ability to think laterally and identify related issues and risks
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- A confident, professional, and proactive approach
