Let’s Talk about the Role

As the Machinist you will operate mobile equipment, tools, and machinery efficiently and accurately onsite. You will also perform site machining on power plant equipment for overhaul and refurbishment, such as casing, rotor, and valve.

How you will make the difference

  • Applying experience and knowledge to all aspects of the On-Site machining (OSM) service offering to be able to complete assignments.
  • Perform typical repair activities including turbine rotor machining and blade replacement, turbine casing weld and machining repairs and valve seat retrofits.
  • Replace machine parts for industrial equipment and complete shop and field repairs on equipment and welding.
  • Quickly address and resolve mechanical operating issues.
  • Overhaul and refurbish plant equipment on site and within the workshop in accordance to approved instructions.
  • Perform maintenance of clean work areas, machines and equipment.
  • Deliver expectations on EHS (Environmental, Health and Safety), Quality, On-Time Delivery, Productivity and Cost Reduction.
  • Complete mandatory trainings.
  • Ensure proper documentation as specified on Test and Inspect Plans, Work instructions.
  • Notify non-conformances and tags / segregates non-conforming items.
  • Ensure equipment calibration, proper usage of equipment and right material incorporated.
  • Understand all RAMS in line with the scope of work to be carried out; ensure all documentation being used is both current and accurate, reporting any situation where this is not the case.
  • Report all situations to the Machinist Supervisor where further clarification is required to complete the intended work scope.
  • Inform the Machinist Supervisor or the Outage Manager when machining work has either been completed or when there are concerns that the required machining operations cannot be completed in the expected time frame.
  • Operate all machinery and tooling correctly and compliantly, ensuring it is in date regarding calibration.
  • Ensure the highest level of EHS and Quality at all times; stop work if any EHS or Quality issues should arise.

Special Role Requirements:

  • Able to travel extensively overseas to and from projects and various field assignments.
  • Willing to work holidays, weekends and overtime as required by field assignments.
  • Ability to spend considerable time away from home for training and field assignments.
  • Able to be assigned other duties to help proactively to drive our FieldCore vision and to align with our organization’s core values.

Skills for success

  • You will be capable of independent machining job as well as having exceptional safety and quality awareness.
  • Possessing Portable Lathe, Boring bar, Portable milling, Drilling and Grinding capabilities.
  • Experience operating manual Workshop machinery.
  • Holding a Forklift License, Fitter/Winder Trade Certificate, Rigging / Signalman Course, Lifting Supervisor Safety Course is preferable.
  • A formal education is nice to have, but we are most interested in your total experience and professional achievements.
