What the job involves
We are looking for a Financial Accountant to strengthen our financial reporting, audit, and compliance capability as we scale. Your role will be to provide support across the finance operations by supporting the Financial Reporting Manager with a focus across statutory reporting, audit, tax, and transactions. You will play a key role in delivering high‑quality financial reporting, supporting audit and compliance processes, and gaining exposure to tax and transactions in a fast‑growing business. This is a broad and varied role with the opportunity to have massive impact.
Key responsibilities including:
- Financial Reporting
- Prepare statutory accounts for multiple entities under IFRS / FRS 101/102.
- Own the production of financial statements, disclosures, and supporting schedules.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and group policies.
- Assist in drafting technical accounting papers for key judgement areas (e.g. leases, revenue recognition, capitalisation).
- Audit
- Act as a primary contact for auditors, owning delivery of accurate and well‑prepared audit information.
- Prepare audit files, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
- Support audit planning and help drive an efficient audit process.
- Contribute to improving internal controls and audit readiness.
- Tax & Transactions
- Support corporation tax compliance across the group, including supporting tax provisioning, reporting requirements, and coordination with external advisors.
- Support financial due diligence processes for acquisitions.
- Prepare financial information, data packs, and respond to diligence queries.
- Contribute to analysis of financial performance, risks, and key considerations.
- Group reporting and wider contribution
- Assist with accounting for complex areas (e.g. hedging, borrowings, business combinations).
- Review balance sheet reconciliations with a focus on technical accuracy.
- Work with the wider finance team to improve reporting, processes, and controls.
- Contribute to automation and development of scalable finance systems.
