Registered Manager required for our 5 bed Ofsted Registered Homes in Stanford-Le-Hope Essex, supporting 8-18s with LD and challenging behaviour. £60k starting salary plus bonuses.
The ethos of our children homes is to provide safety and stability to children in a time of great difficulty and change, enabling them to continue with everyday life even though they may be facing tough challenges. Our homes provide therapeutic and nurturing environments so that the children feel safe and cared for whilst learning boundaries and self-care skills.
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to demonstrate reasoning, numeracy, literacy and technology skills to required standard.
- Ability to work as a team, working closely with colleagues and other agencies.
- Ability to solve problems.
- Able to work within the principles of the Childrens Act.
- Demonstrate a sound working knowledge of Child Protection Issues and Procedures.
- Sound knowledge of Childrens Homes procedures and relevant issues.
- Ability to exercise authority.
- Proven leadership and management abilities.
- Excellent communication skills both verbally and written.
Knowledge and Experience
- At least 18 months working experience as a Registered Manager or Deputy Manager in a Registered Childrens Home where the rating of their home is good to outstanding.
- A minimum of two years experience at senior level in a Childrens Home.
- Experience working with Children who have ADHD, Learning & Behavioural difficulties.
- Have a very good understanding of the childrens homes regulations and quality standards, 2015.
- Have good knowledge and experience working as a designated safeguarding lead in childrens residential home(s).
Qualifications
- The Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) and Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young Peoples Services (or you are willing to work towards this).
- Or NVQ Level 4 Health and Social Care (Childrens Pathway) combined with a Leadership and Management Qualification.
