Registered Children’s Home Manager Required in Leiston Suffolk IP16. Salary £50k-£55k + bonus Negotiable.
We are looking for a Children’s Home Manager for our 4 bed Children’s Home supporting 8-18 year olds with EBD and challenging behaviours. Our home is modern and bright. The owners require someone who is experienced, enthusiastic and energetic. Quality is key. We seek a person that is consistent, reliable and has the knowledge to run a home effectively. Someone who cares and will always find a solution. The team including Responsible Individual and Directors will be there with full support and encourage training qualifications and progression.
Registered Manager Skills and abilities:- Ability to demonstrate reasoning, numeracy, literacy and technology skills to required standard.
- Ability to work as a team, working closely with colleagues and other agencies.
- Ability to solve problems.
- Able to work within the principles of the Children’s Act.
- Demonstrate a sound working knowledge of Child Protection Issues and Procedures.
- Sound knowledge of Children’s Homes procedures and relevant issues.
- Ability to exercise authority.
- Proven leadership and management abilities.
- Excellent communication skills - both verbally and written.
- At least 1 year working experience as a Registered Manager in a Registered Children’s Home where the rating of their home is good to outstanding.
- A minimum of two years’ experience at senior level in a Children’s Home.
- Experience working with Children who have Mental Health, Emotional & Behavioural difficulties.
- Have a very good understanding of the children’s homes regulations and quality standards, 2015.
- Have good knowledge and experience working as a designated safeguarding lead in children’s residential home(s).
- The Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) and Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young Peoples Services (or you are willing to work towards this) or NVQ Level 4 Health and Social Care (Children’s Pathway) combined with a Leadership and Management Qualification.
