We are looking for a Registered Childrens Home Manager for a new 5 Bed home in Colchester supporting 8-18s with EBD SEMH and challenging behaviour. (Max 3 Children). Making sure you fit the guidelines as an applicant for this role is essential, please read the below carefully. There will be tremendous opportunities to grow, progression will be encouraged. Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to demonstrate reasoning, numeracy, literacy and technology skills to required standard.
- Ability to work as a team, working closely with colleagues and other agencies.
- Ability to solve problems.
- Able to work within the principles of the Childrens Act.
- Demonstrate a sound working knowledge of Child Protection Issues and Procedures.
- Sound knowledge of Childrens Homes procedures and relevant issues.
- Ability to exercise authority.
- Proven leadership and management abilities.
- Can evidence Ofsted inspections (URN).
- Excellent communication skills both verbally and written.
Knowledge and Experience:
- At least 1 year working experience as a Registered Manager in a Registered Childrens Home where the rating of their home is good to outstanding.
- A minimum of two years experience at senior support level in a Childrens Home.
- Experience working with Children who have Mental Health, Emotional & Behavioural difficulties.
- Have a very good understanding of the childrens homes regulations and quality standards, 2015.
- Have good knowledge and experience working as a designated safeguarding lead in childrens residential home(s).
Qualifications:
- The Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) and Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young Peoples Services (or you are willing to work towards this).
- Or NVQ Level 4 Health and Social Care (Childrens Pathway) combined with a Leadership and Management Qualification.
What Can We Offer?
- Full Time Role £50,000 - £60,000 dependant on Experience and Qualifications.
