We are looking for Senior Support Workers for a new 3 Bed home supporting 8-18s with EBD, SEMH and challenging behaviour. Close to Blackburn and Bolton. This will be the chance to be involved and grow with an organisation that wants to make a difference, where the emphasis will be on high quality of care.
Salary: Senior Support Workers £16 per hour + £65 per sleep (must be qualified and a driver). You will be expected to sleep in after some of your shifts. £33,000 - £40,000.
Duties include:
- Supporting and managing the staff team to meet the needs of the young person
- Planning each shift and ensuring resources are allocated appropriately
- Working with external professionals to deliver positive outcomes
- Providing supervision and support to staff in line with Quality Standards
- Supporting the young person to engage in education
- Ensuring their health needs are met
- Providing advice, support and guidance
- Managing complex behaviours and crisis intervention
- Administering and recording medication
- Maintaining daily records and administrative work
- Contributing to the care planning process
- Liaising with external stakeholders and our multidisciplinary team
- Attending mandatory training
- Engaging in team meetings
- Maintaining the home (laundry, cleaning, shopping, cooking, etc.)
Requirements:
- Able to work Full time
- A full UK driving license (preferred)
- Right to work in the UK (we do not offer sponsorship)
- An understanding that this role will require that you undertake Enhanced DBS checks
- You need to be able to work flexibly in caring for the children. This will include working shifts and sleep-ins with full-time and part-time hours being available.
- Experience working and supporting 6-18 year olds with EBD, challenging behaviour and complex care.
- You will have some experience supporting children or young people with EBD.
- Seniors MUST have NVQ level 3 Children Residential plus 2 years Support Work experience (Children's).
