We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Responsible Individual/Operations Manager to oversee a group of children's homes in Cannock Staffordshire. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing children's services operationally and acting as the RI, ensuring compliance with Ofsted regulations, and maintaining high standards of care and safeguarding, as well as strong relationships with local authorities.
The role will start with overseeing 3 homes (2 x 3 beds, 1 x 2 bed) and this will increase to 5 in the near future.
Starting salary of Responsible Individual/Operations Manager:
- £75k
- Quarterly bonus
- Salary will increase when the service expands from 3 homes to 5 homes
- Company car
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with Ofsted regulations, including preparing for inspections and addressing any requirements or recommendations.
- Act as the Responsible Individual, providing leadership and guidance to staff, ensuring that all practices meet regulatory and legal standards.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures that promote the welfare and development of children in care.
- Manage budgets, resources, and staff schedules to ensure efficient and effective operation of the home.
- Liaise with external agencies, parents, and stakeholders to ensure cohesive and collaborative care plans.
- Monitor and evaluate the quality of care provided, implementing improvements where necessary.
- Provide training and support to staff, fostering a positive and professional work environment.
Requirements:
- Have experience as a Children's Home Responsible Individual for 2 years and Registered Manager for 2 years.
- In-depth knowledge of Ofsted regulations and standards for children's services.
- Proven ability to act as a Responsible Individual with a strong understanding of legal and ethical responsibilities.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle challenging situations effectively.
- Relevant qualifications in social care, management, or a related field. Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management (or equivalent) for Residential Childcare.
- Have a strong understanding of the Social Care Common Inspection Framework (SCCIF) for children’s homes and extensive knowledge of laws and practices relating to looked-after children.
