Since 1943, Field Studies Council has created inspiring outdoor learning opportunities for all ages – from school children to adult learners – helping everyone connect with and care for the environment.
What you’ll be doing:
- Housekeeping will be at the heart of your role, keeping our visitor spaces clean, tidy, and ready for guests. This includes:
- Cleaning bedrooms, bathrooms, and communal areas
- Preparing rooms for guests, including making beds, providing towels, and restocking tea/coffee facilities
- Ensuring public areas such as corridors and classrooms are neat, tidy, and well-presented
- Setting up the dining room for meals
- Assisting in the kitchen with food preparation and service
- Keeping the dining, kitchen, and tea/coffee areas clean and stocked
Our centre is always busy, so we value team members who are happy to help wherever they’re needed.
Where you’ll be working:
Preston Montford is set in the heart of Shropshire’s countryside, just outside Shrewsbury. It’s the kind of place where your day begins with fresh air, open views and the peaceful rhythm of a rural landscape. Our 12‑hectare estate is full of character, from semi‑ancient woodland and wildflower meadows to ponds, orchards and quiet corners perfect for taking a breather. It’s a calm, scenic environment that feels far from the usual hospitality setting, with nature all around you.
