Lead Housekeeper in Dorking

Your leadership ensures that our accommodation and facilities are maintained to excellent standards, helping learners of all ages feel at ease, focused, and ready to connect with the natural world. Responsibilities

• Lead the housekeeping function to ensure our learning location is consistently clean, welcoming, and ready for guests.
• Manage, motivate and support the housekeeping team.
• Take an active role in recruiting, training and developing team members.
• Prepare staff rotas and plan deep‑cleaning schedules.
• Organise guest room changes and ensure smooth changeovers.
• Work alongside your team during day‑to‑day housekeeping, leading by example.
• Contribute to a flexible, positive work environment where everyone supports each other to deliver an excellent guest experience.

Qualifications

• Ideally you will have a hospitality background and supervisory or management experience.
• A great work ethic where aptitude and attitude are key.
• A natural pride in the work you produce.
• A flexible and adaptive approach, able to perform using your own initiative both independently and as a team player.
• A professional manner in all that you do.
• An empathy with the aims and objectives of Field Studies Council.
• A committed and proactive approach to personal development; motivated to learn new skills and overcome new challenges.

Where you’ll be based: Juniper Hall is a 17th‑century country house set in a peaceful wooded valley at the edge of Box Hill, Surrey, in an unspoilt area of the chalk North Downs. Surrounded by nature and rich in history, it offers a truly unique working environment.
