The Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced Operational Technology (OT) Technician to join a growing Cyber & Digital team, supporting the delivery of Operational Technology projects across a range of industrial sites.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience working on SCADA systems, PLCs, industrial control systems and electrical installations who enjoys a hands-on, site-based role.
You'll play a key part in delivering OT installations, supporting commissioning activities, supervising contractors and ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently and to the highest standards.
- What You'll Be Doing
- As an Operational Technology Technician, your responsibilities will include:
- Installing, modifying and removing SCADA-related equipment in accordance with approved drawings, specifications and work procedures.
- Carrying out site surveys to support project planning and engineering design activities.
- Acting as the key liaison between site operators, contractors and engineering teams during site works.
- Managing and administering Permit to Work systems.
- Supervising contractors on site, ensuring work is completed safely and efficiently.
- Maintaining daily records of contractor attendance and site activities.
- Supporting engineers with planning site works, commissioning activities and testing procedures.
- Carrying out minor wiring modifications on control panels, including intrinsically safe (IS) and communications bus wiring.
- Monitoring construction progress against project schedules and labour targets.
- Ensuring all work complies with Health & Safety legislation, company procedures and industry standards.
- Travelling to sites across the UK, including occasional overnight stays where required.
What We're Looking For
To be successful in this role, you'll ideally have
Qualifications
- Relevant electrical qualifications suitable for carrying out wiring modifications on SCADA or control panels.
- Good knowledge of the IET Wiring Regulations.
- CCNSG Safety Passport (or equivalent).
- Ability to obtain and maintain Authorised Electrical Person status (minimum NVQ equivalent qualification).
- Full UK Driving Licence.
