We are looking for a skilled and motivated Electrician to join a growing organisation within the renewable energy sector. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced electrical professional with knowledge of solar PV and battery energy storage systems who is looking to further develop their career in a fast-paced and evolving industry.
The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, commissioning, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems while ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in line with current industry regulations and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, commission, and maintain solar PV and battery energy storage systems.
- Carry out both planned and reactive repairs on battery energy storage systems.
- Diagnose and rectify faults on extra-low voltage (ELV) and low-voltage (LV) electrical systems.
- Interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
- Complete electrical testing and inspection work in accordance with BS 7671 requirements.
- Prepare and inspect equipment to ensure it is safe, compliant, and ready for deployment.
- Safely isolate, test, and identify ELV and LV electrical systems.
- Work effectively both independently and as part of a wider engineering team, maintaining high standards in a busy environment.
Requirements
- Fully qualified Electrician.
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671).
- 2391 Inspection & Testing qualification.
- Good working knowledge of BS 7671 regulations and electrical installation standards.
- Basic understanding of solar PV and battery energy storage systems.
- Ability to manage workloads independently while contributing positively within a team.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to delivering safe, high-quality work.
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience working with battery energy storage systems (BESS) is desirable.
- Experience within the renewable energy, solar, or wider electrical installation sector.
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving abilities.
- Proactive approach with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
