We are currently looking for a Design Interface Manager for a global leading construction business working as a main contractor at Sizewell C. The primary focus of this role will be to act as the single on-site technical focal point lead between design teams, construction delivery and the Client on a major UK infrastructure project. This is a hands-on, problem-solving role with end-to-end ownership of design interfaces, RFIs, technical queries, material approvals, engineering changes and client technical coordination, ensuring that approved design intent is implemented efficiently on site.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary technical interface between Contractors, subcontracted designers, engineering, site supervision and the Client’s technical representatives.
  • Manage and drive RFIs and design clarifications from start to finish liaising with the relevant project teams.
  • Lead and approve material and technical submittal review processes, including coordination of comments and approvals with the Client where required.
  • Identify technical and interface risks and push solutions forward, removing blockers to construction progress.

Required Experience

  • Proven experience as a Design Management role within large scale construction projects.
  • Proven hands-on experience with RFIs, submittals, technical approvals, engineering changes and client interfaces.
  • Training in Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 (CDM 2015).
  • Knowledge of the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992.
